Greensboro, NC -- Millions of Americans are looking for jobs. They're available, but companies say workers do not have the training necessary for those skilled positions.

That's where a new class at Dudley High School in Greensboro will make a difference.

Dudley students are the first in the country to take a LEVA Level 1 Technician Course. LEVA stands for Light Electric Vehicle Association.

"You can get a lot of experience after finishing this class, basically, wherever you go, many schools will accept you and out in the environment, you can find a lot of jobs, like right now," said student Liet Ramah.

Another student, Travanti Davenport, said, "To do hands-on, just learn how to do a craft like this, makes you do it, makes you take it," he told News 2.

The LEVA course teaches students the skills they need to get an auto-industry recognized certification to maintain and repair electric vehicles and their batteries.

Ramah says he's learning about more than just cars. "We learn basically everything. We learn how to respect, how to treat each other. I love this class, I just love it."
