N.C. State Women's Basketball Coach Kay Yow's Funeral Held In Cary
Burlington, NC -- A Williams High School senior is hosting a "Play 4 Kay" breast cancer awareness event and fundraiser this Friday during the Williams High School home basketball games.
The event honors the legacy of legendary N.C. State women's basketball coach and former Gibsonville native Kay Yow.
Kaley Moser, a Williams High varsity basketball player is holding the event to honor the memory of her aunt who died from breast cancer just years ago.
The funds raised will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Pink Ribbon Fund at the Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Moser has invited local breast cancer survivors to attend and be honored throughout the evening.
Williams High plays Eastern Guilford with the girls' game at 6pm and the varsity boys game to follow, at 7:30pm.
Special events will be held during the game. A silent auction with signed basketballs from the head women's coaches at N.C. State, UNC and Elon. Also, a special recognition of breast cancer survivors will take place during halftime of the boys game.
Williams High School is located at 1307 South Church Street in Burlington.
