Stewed Tomatoes Recipe

Ingredients
2 Tbsp. diet margarine
2 medium-size onions, minced
12 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and cut in pieces
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. brown sugar
¼ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. basil

Method
In a large saucepan, melt margarine and onions. Sauté until tender. Add tomatoes, salt, brown sugar, pepper, and basil. Bring to a boil, lower heat, cover, and simmer slowly for about 25 minutes. Adjust seasonings if necessary. Makes 4 servings.
