Germanton, NC - People start businesses for a variety of reasons, some see a need that they can meet.  While others just have great ideas.  For Stokes county resident Judith Long it was a medical condition that lead to her idea.

Long has sensitive skin and the commercial product soaps would just irritate her skin.  So in 1998 she began to experiment.  After reading a lot of books she and a friend began the soap making process.

Six years later she was open for business under the 'Long Family Farm' name.

Her soap is made the cold-processed way, using raw oils and sodium hydroxide.  Clean never looked so good!  Her designs include sea shells, flip flops, Easter eggs, flowers and many more depending on the season.  If its a plain bar of soap you would rather have, well they make that too.
