High Point, North Carolina - Turn of the century European grain feed bags are making a comeback in High Point with a little twist. Designer Debbie Jones encountered the bags during a trip to an Atlanta area flea market 10 years ago.
Her idea, reproduce these wonderful creations into fabric for pillows, bedding, and furniture. Five years ago with some help from textile engineers in North Carolina her plan took shape and her company had a name French Laundry Home.
Jones began to show her fabric at Market but she needed some furniture to display the goods. Her customers at the time began to ask where they could purchase the furniture as well as the fabric.
Now Jones designs her own line of furniture. All of the furniture is handcrafted in Thomasville. In addition to her line of chairs, sofas, and beds she also crafts pillows, napkins, place mats, clothing, tote bags, and so much more.
Her goods are primarily purchased via catalogs and through luxury department stores like Neiman Marcus. You can also find many of French Laundry Home wears throughout the United States in boutiques from the mountains of North Carolina to California.
