Greensboro, NC -- Shana Martin knew she had a gift, she just might not have realized it was in a recipe book.  The recipe for southern sour dough bread inspired her to start a business.

Martin moved from Tennessee to Greensboro in 2008 and began to use her free time in the kitchen cooking and baking.

At her mothers suggestion she began to bake grandmas southern sour dough bread.  Martin just planned to keep it for herself or give it to some family and friends.

Shortly after a wine tasting at Grove Winery and Vineyards the people in attendance begged her to make more; and bake she did.  "I looked at my husband and I said oh my gosh, I think this could be a business.  It was really exciting", says Martin.

Her business now has a name Anna Mae Southern Bread Company named in memory of her grandmother.

The bread can be found in all Fresh Market stores and select Lowes Foods in the frozen food section.
