Whitney Houston's death probe focus is turning to the drugs found in her room and the doctors who prescribed them, reports The Los Angeles Times.
Lt. Fred Corral of the investigations division of the Los Angeles coroner's office confirms to USA TODAY's William M. Welch that subpoenas are being issued.
Corral says investigators want information from doctors who prescribed medicines found at the Beverly Hilton Hotel suite where Houston died last week. Corral says the step is routine in such death investigations.
"That's what we do,'' Corral told USA TODAY. "That's part of the investigation.''
He said a "security hold" placed on the coroner's findings by Beverly Hills police remains in place and that he could not provide further information.
The toxicology report is still weeks from being complete.
