Browns Summit, NC -- A pair of motorcycle builders is hoping to turn heads at a show in Charlotte this weekend.

Simon Solomon and Eddie Meeks run their company called Hardly Civilized and build specialized motorcycles. They created what they call the Quantum Leap - a futuristic-looking motorcycle.

They are bringing the bike to the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Charlotte this weekend. They are entering it in the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show at the event and hoping to get the judges' attention.

The winner of that contest will advance to the United States championship of custom bike building at the Daytona Beach Motorcycle Show in March.

The Quantum Leap has rear wheel steering with the drive shaft on the front wheel and hydraulics that are the same as airplane flaps.

The show runs Friday through Sunday at the Charlotte Convention Center. To learn more, including times and ticket prices, click here.
