Eden, NC-- If you have late fees owed to a Triad library, you will be forgiven if you donate canned goods.

Rockingham County Public Library is offering residents an opportunity to pay off their library fines with food. By donating food between Dec. 1 through the 23, you will receive amnesty for your library fines only.

How does it work?  One can of food forgives one dollar in fines at all Rockingham County Public Libraries and the Bookmobile. Library branches are located throughout the county in Eden, Madison, Mayodan, Reidsville, and Stoneville.

The "Food for Fines" program is only for fines. Charges for lost or damaged materials or other fees will not be forgiven.

Donated food must be non-perishable and up-to-date on expiration. All food donations will be taken to local agencies.
