(High Point, NC)- On May 2, 2012 around 8pm, Detectives from the Randolph County Sheriff's Office were called out to the area of Eastward Avenue and Beverly Hills Drive in High Point, NC just inside the Randolph County line by responding deputies.
The initial investigation revealed that 2 adult females and 3 children (ages 2, 3 and 4) were all riding an ATV together and the vehicle flipped as it attempted to climb a steep embankment. The 4 year old child sustained multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the incident.
Randolph County EMS transported the 4 year old child to High Point Regional Hospital where the child was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
No other rider of the ATV was treated for injury.
The investigation is currently ongoing and names are being withheld pending notification of family.
