Triad -- On Friday, a cold front moved through and brought thunderstorms... but not much cool air. Another front will arrive on Monday evening and actually bring relief.
Monday will be the last hot and humid day for now. Temps will surge close to 90 just before the front pulls through. In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are a good possibility. There's a 40% chance.
After the front passes, the cooler air will dive in. By Tuesday morning, lows should be in the low 60s. Highs will only be in the low 80s and the humidity levels will be comfortable. By Wednesday, lows could reach the upper 50s, with highs in the mid 80s.
After that, the cool air will run out. Another warm-up begins on Thursday as highs return to the low 90s. Friday is when we will really feel the heat. Highs should be in the upper 90s. We haven't been that hot all year. The warm air should last into the weekend with highs in the mid 90s. There will be a chance of afternoon thunderstorms for a temporary cool-down next Saturday and Sunday.
