Burlington, NC -- Classes will be cancelled for students and staff at Broadview Middle School and Cummings High School on Monday, September 24, due to a broken waterpipe under the basement area of Cummings High School.
Crews from Alamance-Burlington Schools maintenance department and the City of Burlington are working to repair the waterpipe that burst sometime over the weekend. As a precaution, both electrical and water service have been shut off at the two schools causing the need to cancel classes for Monday.
Students and staff at Broadview and Cummings will make up the missed day of school on Saturday, September 29 with a 2 hour early dismissal time.
Students and staff are being notified of the cancellation of classes via automated phone message this evening.
Classes at all other schools will operate on a normal schedule on Monday, September 24.
