Winston-Salem, NC -- Krispy Kreme, the doughnut giant whose treats are ubiquitous in supermarkets and free-standing shops around the country, is giving its headquarters a makeover.
The Winston-Salem Journal reports that the company plans to spend about $1.2 million on the renovations, which should take between 12 and 14 months.
Spokesman Brian Little says the work will give the company room to grow and provide much needed meeting space.
Nearly 200 people work in the Winston-Salem headquarters, and companywide meetings have to be held at a larger training facility rather than the headquarters building.
Little says the renovations will also pay tribute to the company's storied history by hanging Krispy Kreme paraphernalia throughout the building.
