CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South Conference announced on Tuesday that the semifinals and final of the Big South Men's Soccer Championship will be played in nearby Greensboro, N.C., at MacPherson Stadium in Bryan Park for the next three seasons.

"Obviously we are extremely excited that the tournament will be held in our backyard for the next few seasons," HPU men's soccer head coach Dustin Fonder said. "We feel that it will give fans the opportunity to come out to the games and support us like they always do. I am also very happy that we have to chance to play at a great facility in Bryan Park and on the tremendous field at MacPherson Stadium."

Eight teams will qualify for the Big South Championship with first-round games held at the home of the four high seeds on Nov. 6. The winners from those games will advance to meet in Greensboro in the semifinals on Nov. 9 with the Big South Championship game taking place two-days later on Nov. 11.

High Point has reached the semifinals of the Big South tournament in each of the past two seasons including an appearance in the Big South Championship game in 2010.

Last season, HPU went 9-9-3 and advanced to the Big South semifinals where the team was eliminated on penalty kicks by host Gardner-Webb after playing to a 0-0 tie. The Panthers return several top players from that squad including All-Conference selections Shawn Sloan, Fejiro Okiomah and Adam Sewell.
