Piscataway, NJ (Sports Network) - Jordan Theodore scored a game-high 24 points
as the Seton Hall Pirates took down the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 59-54, in Big
East Conference action at the RAC.
Herb Pope added 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Pirates (16-8,
5-7 Big East), while Brandon Mobley accounted for 10 rebounds as the team
halted a six-game slide.
The Scarlet Knights (12-13, 4-8) were paced by Mike Poole who delivered 14
points off the bench, while Eli Carter contributed 13 points but shot just 4-
of-12 from the floor in the team's third consecutive setback.
Rutgers made a total of just nine field goals on 27 attempts in the first
half, missing all but two of nine chance behind the three-point line in the
period as well, yet the hosts still managed to put up a 28-26 lead at the
break.
In the second half the Knights against struggled from the floor (8-of-27)
which allowed Seton Hall to register the five-point win.
The Pirates captured the road victory despite turning the ball over 19 times
and shooting just 6-of-17 behind the three-point line.
