Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles and center fielder
Adam Jones agreed to terms on a one-year contract Tuesday, avoiding
arbitration.
Jones, 26, is coming off his best season as a pro, setting career-highs in
games (151), doubles (26), home runs (25) and runs batted in (83) last year.
But he also struck out 113 times compared to 29 walks while carrying a .280
batting average.
Through 624 career games with Seattle and Baltimore, the six-year veteran is a
career .275 hitter with 100 doubles, 75 homers and 291 RBI.
